Your Consultant will always advise you of the tenure of the contract you are being considered for and keep you up to date with any tenure amendments.

Absolutely. We have a dedicated team who specialise in permanent recruitment. If you are considering a move to a permanent role or want to discuss the next step in your career, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

We work within the health and social care sector and specialise in placing high calibre social workers, team managers and service managers into the NHS, public and private organisations throughout the UK. We also place various specialist roles, so if you work in any qualified role within the health and social care sector, get in touch and we can talk you through suitable vacancies we have at that time. Our current vacancies are constantly updated to reflect our fast paced business, so keep an eye out on our vacancies page, register for job alerts or call the team to discuss suitable vacancies.

We have offices in London, the North West and West Yorkshire, but we cover the whole of the UK and have strong relationships with clients across the country. Contact us: Click Here

We offer a generous £250 referral bonus if you make a referral to us, which will be paid to you once your referred candidate has successfully completed 200 hours. The candidate that has been referred must be qualified, we offer £75 for unqualified referrals. Additionally, if you have found your own job and brought this exclusively to us, you will also receive a £250 bonus if you are qualified, or £75 if you are unqualified.

What you earn is dependent on a number of factors and will vary between roles. Your consultant will be transparent about the hourly rate or annual salary on offer for each role. Factors that may affect what you might be paid include:

  • How much experience you have in the speciality area and level of role
  • The location of the role
  • Any budgetary or contractual constraints the employer may have in place

Careers

Most managers are seeking candidates who have a minimum of two years’ experience, however this isn’t always necessary. Please contact one of our skilled recruitment consultants to discuss your next career move.

Whilst the majority of our work is with qualified social workers, we do place a limited number of unqualified workers throughout the UK. Please contact one of our specialist recruitment consultants to discuss your next career move.

Many of our positions are posted on our website. However, due to the fast-paced nature of the sector, and unparalleled relationships with clients, we often work on roles which have not been advertised. Our current vacancies are constantly updated, so keep an eye out on our vacancies page – you can register for job alerts there. Better still, call one of our consultants to hear about the vacancies that are suitable for you.

Finance

Towards the end of the week, you will send your weekly hours to your consultant, who will arrange for them to be approved by your manager.

The deadline for timesheet approval is 12 noon on Tuesdays, and we advise that you get your hours to us by close of business on the Friday of your completed week.

First, you will need to liaise with your manager to ensure you are able to claim expenses. Once this is confirmed, you should complete and sign an expense form, and ask your approving manager to sign it too. Completed expense forms should be returned – along with the relevant VAT receipts to sctimesheets@pertempsmedical.co.uk. Please note: non-mileage claims will need receipt evidence, and claims must be business related claims only.

You should receive a payslip each week from your umbrella agency. If you need a copy of a specific timesheet, you will need to request a copy directly with your umbrella agency contact.

If your hours/expenses are approved by 12pm Tuesday, you will receive your weekly payment by close of business Friday. This may differ on bank holidays so please check for regular updates on our website and social media channels.

Due to IR35 legislation, we pay all our locums via umbrella agencies. This offers you the flexibility of being a contractor, along with the stability and benefits that any employee would expect.

We only approve umbrella agencies that have passed the compliance processes we implemented in line with the Financial Crime Act of 2017.

Compliance

When you register with Pertemps Social Care, our experienced safeguarding team will advise you of the necessary documents you must provide, these include:

  • Valid proof of qualification
  • Confirmation you are registered with the associated professional body – ie: Social Work England registration card
  • Copy of your passport and any relevant visa documents, showing proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
  • Professional references (standard requirement is for references to cover 2-5 years of employment)
  • All candidates are also required to make a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check

This list is not exhaustive of all compliance checks. Your safeguarding consultant will provide you with detailed information as to what is required and make your experience as smooth as possible.

It will depend on how quickly you are able to return the necessary documentation and how responsive your referees are, but the compliance and registration process shouldn’t take long. In order to limit delays and disruptions to your upcoming placement, we recommend you register with the DBS update service which allows you to keep your DBS certificate up to date and allows your compliance consultant to easily check your certificate. We also suggest that you regularly keep in touch with your referees and advise them that we will be in touch, to ensure they are responsive to our requests.
